How to Lose That Belly Fat

Lose That Belly FatYou’re no doubt tired of seeing men with rock-solid, six-pack abs, when you look down at your own belly fat. There are many factors that can contribute to this fat, but the main thing you want to learn is how to lose that belly fat for good. Once you do, you will find yourself at less risk for multiple health issues, and you’ll feel so much better if you look ripped instead of fat. You will need to follow an exercise program and stick to a healthy diet if you want to lose the fat.

First off, watch what you eat. You’ll never have excellent abs if you still have belly fat – well, the abs might be in good shape, but no one will be able to see them. Control your eating and make healthy food choices. Here are some foods to make a part of your diet and some to avoid:

Eat lots of high-protein food, such as beans, and whole grain foods such as oatmeal. Vegetables should always be high on your list of foods to choose for meals and snacks. Egg plant, green beans, spinach, lettuce, celery, asparagus, cucumber, broccoli and cauliflower are among the best vegetables. Snack on fresh fruit, like grapes, figs and apples, and eat citrus fruits like oranges to give your body a vitamin C boost.

Avoid foods like fried dishes, ice cream, whole milk, cheese, cookies, cakes, processed foods, candies and sweets. And try to stay away from processed juices, sugary syrups and sugar.

Also be sure to drink lots of water. This helps to remove toxins from your body, and keeps your digestive system running at peak efficiency.

Diet alone is not enough to lose your belly fat, though. You will need to exercise, to boost your metabolic rate and work some of the fat off. Exercise daily, even if it’s “only” cardio work. Cardio exercises burn some calories and help elevate your heart rate. Here are some simple exercises you can use to lose that belly fat:

Walking is a great fitness exercise, although it doesn’t burn many calories unless it’s brisk walking. You should walk as fast as you comfortably can, not like you’re out for a stroll.

Running is an excellent cardio exercise, as is jogging. You can run around the streets where you live, especially if they’re hilly, or work out at a fitness center or club.

Cycling is another cardio exercise that physicians recommend, as much for overall health as for specific weight loss. You can ride outdoors or on a stationary bike.

Swimming works your entire body, and it’s not hard on your joints like some other cardio work can be. You burn some good calories when you swim.

You will also want to add weight training and strength exercises to your workout plan. Lifting weights and doing squats with free weights work well to help you lose body fat. Crunches are often maligned, but they do give your ab muscles a solid workout, and you can use weights with them, if they become too easy after you have done them for awhile.

Tennis, dancing, jumping rope and aerobics are also great workouts. Be sure you stretch before you start working out, to avoid any injuries that could set your training plan back.

Follow these exercise and diet ideas and make them part of your daily routine. Don’t waste your money on expensive supplements or extreme fad diets. Be patient but stay motivated. You will find that you can have six-pack abs, too!
