Belly Fat Tips You Can Use
Losing belly fat is a frustrating task for many Americans. Many times people will start a diet, only to give it up when they don’t see quick results. You need to be patient and determined. You don’t need to buy tons of ab equipment or supplements that present themselves as “miracle drugs”. Belly fat is as unhealthy as it is unattractive, so use common sense to get rid of it. Here are some tips to help you:
Lose your bad habits. Try to stay away from stressful situations, and stop drinking and smoking, if you do those now. Drinking and smoking won’t keep you thin – the stress causes your body to release cortisol, which adds to your belly fat.
Drink lots of water. Drinking alcohol doesn’t help get rid of belly fat, but drinking more water will. It doesn’t bloat your body – instead, it helps to reduce the fat there. Your body may need to adjust to your increased water intake, but once it does, you won’t have to make as many trips to the bathroom. Water flushes toxins from your system, so you will also feel better and have more energy, if you drink more water.
Eat foods that are helpful in belly slimming, and take multi-vitamins, so that your body gets all the nutrients it needs. Fiber-rich foods are very helpful when you need to lose weight, because they keep your digestive system working properly. Eat lots of vegetables and fruits, and add whole grains to your diet, too. If you can, eat 20-25 fiber grams daily. Take a fiber supplement, too, if you don’t eat enough foods with fiber.
Calcium is important in losing weight, too. You’re focused on fat, but don’t forget to care for your bones. Osteoporosis makes you slump, and your belly will protrude if you do. Select foods that have a high amount of calcium to help your body. Some of these include yogurt, cottage cheese, milk and cheese.
Aerobic exercises will help you shed belly fat, too. Exercise in this manner about five days a week. A treadmill can also help you become more fit and burn more fat. Walking is good cardio exercise, and increases your heart rate, to help you burn more fat.
Use weight training as part of your routine two or three times during the week. Use smaller weights to start out with, only moving on to heavier weights when you are very comfortable with the lower weight. Don’t risk injuring yourself, or you will sidetrack your weight loss program as you rehab. Check with a trainer or fitness center to find the exercises that will work best for you. Try not to get discouraged by the long road of weight loss. Tuck in your belly, and sit up straight.
Don’t skip breakfast! It is the most important meal to fuel your body for the day ahead. Your metabolism will experience a jump start when you eat a sensible breakfast. If you don’t eat, you’ll not have much energy and you might feel sluggish.
You need to keep yourself disciplined, especially if you have been heavy for your whole life. Anything can be done in time, as long as you keep trying to lose weight.
